Excursion to the lichtsicht 6, Bad Rothenfelde

What does art generally trigger in us or in others? A fascinating question that we will first examine during a tour of the exhibition 'Face-to-Face with Images' and afterwards at the 'lichtsicht 6' in Bad Rothenfelde. In the winter 2017/18, the projection biennial 'lichtsicht', which takes place in Bad Rothenfelde every two years, is celebrating its tenth anniversary and is dedicating this anniversary to the 'best of' from the five previous biennials. Represented are not only international video and media artists, but also young artists with innovative, often interactive works. The setting for these works is the so-called Neue Gradierwerk (new graduation plant), constructed in 1822, in the city’s Kurpark (spa gardens). With a length of 412 metres and a height of eleven metres as well as its, for that time, visionary construction method, nearly without side supports, it forms an unusual and extensive canvas for the projection artists’ large-scale worlds of pictures, whose effect viewers are barely able to resist.

The excursion includes:
Bus tour from the Draiflessen Collection to Bad Rothenfelde and back
Both tours are led by the art historian Franziska Finke

Admission € 39
