Research Evening: Clothing for Boys in the Langmatt Museum
Three short lectures by Martin Kamer, Maria Spitz and Katharina Tietze.
The topic "Clothes for Boys - The Wardrobe of the Brown Brothers in the Context of Their Time" is the result of a research initiative of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Three short lectures by Martin Kamer, Maria Spitz and Katharina Tietze convey the changing forms of children's clothing in the period from 1840 to the 1920s. The focus is on the question of the extent to which the clothes are gender-specific.
Dr. Maria Spitz, Curator of Fashion and Textiles in the Draiflessen Collection will present and classify historical C&A advertisements in the course of the lecture series.
The lecture will take place at the Museum Langmatt in Baden (Switzerland). A recording of the lectures will be published on our homepage in due course.
