What knowledge of materials is actually important to be able to say whether something is original, old and genuine?
On the occasion of the cabinet exhibition IN SEARCH OF CLUES, we go on a little journey and take a look behind the scenes. Our first stop is the historic Meier Osthoff sawmill in Harsewinkel. At the paper mill there, we will look over the shoulder of a paper maker and see how handmade paper is handmade in the old tradition and how the lines are put into the paper. We continue on to Freckenhorst. There, the new presentation of the Abbey Chamber with the Emma Gospels from the 10th century awaits us. Restorer Marita Schlüter will give us a very close look at the practical work on works of art in her restoration studio in Everswinkel. Almost no one ever gets as close to works of art as restorers, so Ms Schlüter always has exciting stories to tell.

After returning to Mettingen, participants will have the opportunity to join a curator's tour with Iris Ellers through the cabinet exhibition in Draiflessen.

Price per person € 79 (incl. lunch and coffee).
Register by August 17 via anmeldung@draiflessen.com or +49 (0)5452.9168-3500.
