Destruction of a Monastery

Here by a sacrilegious and barbarous effort
These enraged and avaricious demons

Pillage, and burn everything, and pull down the altars;
They mock the respect due to the immortals,

And drag from the holy places the desolate Virgins
Whom they dare to kidnap to be ravished.
