Summer happiness with sounds, dance and plates

The meetMUSIC Open Air is the summer festival of the meetMUSIC concert series and invites you on three days in August to musical discoveries, personal concerts and special moments with selected young artists and international prize winners in a very special ambience. The promotion of highly talented young musicians from Germany and abroad is a special concern of ours.

The beautiful park of Draiflessen provides the perfect backdrop, very impressive especially in the evening when not only the stage but also the old trees are colorfully illuminated. The garden is a treasure in the Tecklenburger Land, which will be opened exclusively for the music festival for our audience. Under beautiful trees, we invite our guests to embark on a musical journey in a relaxed and atmospheric atmosphere. But not only the ears will be spoiled, also the palate will be pleased: Our chef prepares small delicacies from regional ingredients, which can be accompanied with pleasure by a glass of wine or a sparkling beer.

We are very pleased that the sisters Anouchka and Katharina Hack have taken over the artistic direction of the Open Air for the third time. Together with the team of Draiflessen, they will create a rousing program for the meetMUSIC summer festival with musician friends and companions.

In the spirit of promoting excellent young artists, Draiflessen GmbH & Co. oHG is once again donating a special prize in 2023 for one winner each of the national Jugend musiziert competition. This year, musicians in the categories piano solo, drum set (pop) and chamber music with wind instruments of age group V (born 2005, 2006) will be awarded. They will again open one of the concerts during the OpenAir.

On Saturday and Sunday the guests of the festival can visit the exhibition in the study hall and in DAS Forum of the Draiflessen Collection free of charge.

Culinary concert / Duo Hack, cello & piano, feat. Kat Nakui, dance

"Dancing Duo", the new programme of the sisters Anouchka & Katharina Hack, turns musical pirouettes, sways in waltz time, stomps its feet. Dances from all over the world tell of old folk tunes and the Argentinean soul. With their dance partners cello and piano, the duo goes in search of the magical component that connects dances from baroque to tango: what is in this music that awakens the desire to dance in us? A new level opens up when the internationally renowned dancer Kat Nakui joins them. The evening culminates in a joint improvisation by the three artists and is accompanied by culinary delights from our chef.

Classical Music Meets Jazz / Lucienne Renaudin Vary, Trumpet & Raphaël Feuillâtre, Classical Guitar

Trumpet and classical guitar - this is how the exceptional young artists Lucienne Renaudin Vary and Raphaël Feuillâtre will enchant the audience. The French Lucienne Renaudin Vary is a trumpet player who plays classical music as well as jazz. She is a winner in the "Révélation" category of the French Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2016. Julian Lloyd Webber, English cellist and composer, celebrated her as one of the 30 "rising stars" under 30 at Classic FM Webber in 2021. She has already released three highly acclaimed albums and won the Opus Classic Prize in 2021 in the Young Artist category.

Guitar genius Raphaël Feuillâtre hails from Djibouti on the north-east coast of Africa and grew up in France. His playing is lively, deeply felt and full of colour, even when he plays music from long ago. The repertoire of the French classical guitarist, winner of numerous international prizes, includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Jean-Philippe Rameau as well as contemporary composers such as Roland Dyens and Sérgio Assad. Hailed by Guitar Salon International as "one of the most exciting concert guitarists of his generation", he makes his instrument sing with a rare blend of clarity and grace.

Acoustic Crossover from Ballet to Disco / UWAGA!

UWAGA! is a quartet with two violins, an accordion and a bass that has been grooving through classical and various other repertoires for years with great joy in experimentation. Influenced by the most diverse backgrounds between classical, jazz, pop and world music, the four artists passionately dissect musical styles into their individual parts and create new musical worlds from them. They present the most diverse forms of dance music such as baroque minuets, Tango Nuevo, Daft Punk and The Prodigy. The vision of the "classical music innovators from the coal pot" is one of music without borders, music that makes you happy, music that goes straight to the heart and to the legs.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" / Anna-Maria & Malte Arkona + Piano Duo Glemser

A concert with storytelling for the whole family: The cheeky goblin Puck has unfortunately "cast a spell" on himself. He actually enchanted the wrong people with a flower. He would have preferred to keep quiet about his mistake, but head elf Gisela insists on hearing the truth. While Puck tells his story, enchanting melodies and harmonies are played by the piano duo Franziska and Florian Glemser, who, with the music of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, whisk Puck away into the world of elves, magic spirits, little and big dreamers and lovers. Even the audience has to help Puck. If all goes well, they even get married at the end. Who marries whom and why? See for yourself, the play begins... This is told by Anna-Maria Arkona, more or less loosely based on William Shakespeare, together with her husband Malte.

Admission: 2:00 p.m. | Start: 3:00 p.m.

Einlass: 14:00 Uhr | Beginn: 15:00 Uhr
