Vanessa Oppenhoff uses threads and a sewing machine to express her artistic vision and present a unique approach to questions of identity and identity formation. In her series Alone on a Hill, the artist portrays children wearing eye masks, standing in the midst of barren trees. Their facial expressions and gestures reveal both certainty and doubt.
