Excursion to the architectural metropolis of Rotterdam *** fully booked
The three-day excursion to the architectural metropolis of Rotterdam begins with a detour to the Kröller Müller Museum in Otterlo on the outward journey. Weather permitting, we will take the typical white Veluwe bicycles to the museum, which is itself an architectural highlight in the middle of nature.
In Rotterdam, we check into the centrally located MotelOne. Rotterdam attracts old and new architecture fans. There is a lot to discover, especially architecturally: Huis Sonneveld, Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Architecture Biennale, the famous Kubushaus, the Market Hall, Laurenskerk, City Hall, Erasmus Bridge and, of course, the harbor area. A city walk tailored to the architecture and a city tour are therefore a must on our excursion.
A visit to the world's first art warehouse open to visitors - Het Depot - is also a must. The egg-shaped, reflective building is already considered an architectural work of art. Affectionately known as the "salad bowl", "Noah's Ark" or simply "De Pot", it reflects Rotterdam's skyline thanks to its round shape and large windows.
For the grand finale, we will stop at Palais Het Loo near Apeldoorn on the return journey on Saturday. The newly restored ensemble of the Dutch royal family, which will reopen in 2022, takes us on a journey through baroque garden and palace architecture.
Price per person in a double room € 510 (single room supplement € 100)
Registration until August 7, 2024
