3-day excursion to Potsdam
as part of the exhibitions BENEATH THE SURFACE

The three-day excursion to Potsdam begins on the day of arrival with a combined city tour, which takes participants through the Dutch Quarter, Alexandrowka and Kongsnaes – places with exotic-sounding names and European roots. A special highlight on the second day of the excursion will be a visit to the restoration workshops of the Gemäldegalerie Potsdam. The head of the workshops will guide you through the rooms, which are otherwise inaccessible to visitors, and explain the complex restoration processes. This is followed by a visit to the picture gallery in Sanssouci Palace, where the restorer presents the restored paintings. A walk through the park and a tour of Sanssouci Palace with Gerd Bartoschek, art historian and former curator of paintings at the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg, will round off the day. The departure day starts with a guided tour of the famous Barberini Museum. Afterwards, participants can enjoy a tour of the palaces by boat, passing the most beautiful sights on the waterfront, as palaces and gardens stretch along the former border between East and West on both sides of the Havel.

The participation fee is € 550.
