As part of the renovation work at Draiflessen, the roof is now also being refurbished. Scaffolding has been erected around the building for the work.
The green roof has been vacuumed, and the next step is to blow in new granulate, which unfortunately will again be noisy.
The roof is scheduled for completion at the end of May.

In 2026, we will begin construction of a new parking lot in the area of the existing parking space, which will be expanded by over 100 parking spaces.
To this end, the ground has been renovated and a new base layer has been applied. The existing gravel was reused in a sustainable manner.

A new gate system has been installed, the construction fence has been removed, and the first glimpses of the new gate system and the raised forecourt can now be seen.
This means that the site is not yet accessible from Georgstraße. The new guest entrance is expected to be operational from October 2026.

The road and forecourt were raised to protect Draiflessen against a hundred-year flood.
Due to the steep slope of the entrance area to the building, there was a risk that water would find its way into the building via the ramp in the event of extreme rainfall. The measure was completed in 2025.

Relocation of the entrance to Bachstraße

Due to construction work, the museum entrance will be temporarily relocated from Georgstraße to Bachstraße 31.
The destination address for navigation systems will remain “Georgstraße 18,” as this is where the museum parking lot is located. From there, a short, signposted footpath leads directly to the entrance on Bachstraße.
As part of the work, an outdoor elevator will also be installed at the museum entrance to improve accessibility.
Building materials will be stored in the Draiflessen parking lot for the duration of the construction work.
