Art in the Evening: Kan'i Kintsugi “easy Kintsugi” for beginners – Visibly repairing broken tableware *** fully booked
as a part of the exhibition MAGICAL WOMEN
Traditional kintsugi uses a special urushi lacquer that takes a very long time to dry. In our workshop, we use modern organic two-component adhesive made from cashew nuts and gold-colored artist pigments instead of real gold.
Each participant will receive a complete kintsugi set with everything we need and can take it home with them, along with the finished piece. For practice in the workshop and to get to know the materials, we provide simple practice pieces such as small cups or saucers.
Please bring broken porcelain or broken ceramics (cup, small plate, tin, lid) and make sure that the piece is broken into no more than 2–4 pieces.
***Please bring old clothes or an apron.
