Excursion | 21.04.2026 – 22.04.2026
2-day excursion to Cologne and Düsseldorf
As part of the exhibition THE DEVIL
Our two-day excursion begins in Cologne with a visit to the Wallraf-Richartz Museum, which houses the world's most important collection of Old Cologne painting. The works are distinguished by their exceptional quality and occupy a prominent position within German medieval art. On a guided tour, we will discover the highlights of this collection, with a special focus on depictions of the devil.
In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of Melaten Cemetery. Melaten Cemetery in Cologne is much more than just a burial site—it is considered an important cultural monument and a reflection of the city's history. Here you will learn fascinating facts about death, funeral culture, and historical figures—always with a touch of morbidity.
On the second day, we immerse ourselves in the mystical world of Cologne's city center on a tour of myths and legends. Devilish figures on churches, depictions of demons, and ancient traditions are the focus of this tour.
At the end of our excursion, which is dominated by rather dark themes, a colorful contrast awaits us: the “Palastblühen” (palace blossoming) at the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf. Floral compositions transform the tour of the collection into a living work of art—colorful, fragrant, and fleetingly beautiful. Surrounded by paintings, sculptures, designs, and glass, flower arrangements open up new perspectives, create visual correspondences, and add sensual accents.
Participation fee per person for double room € 295* (Single room supplement € 52)
*excluding food and drinks
The number of participants is limited to 20
Registration by March 11, 2026 at anmeldung@draiflessen.com or +49 (0)5452.9168-3500.
