meetMUSIC: Easter Monday concert with David Kiefer
in the church of St. Agatha, Mettingen

David Kiefer is one of the most exciting young organists of his generation. On Easter Monday, he will perform a varied program ranging from Baroque to modern music—from Bach to Messiaen—for Draiflessen in the parish church of St. Agatha in Mettingen.

Born in 1996, the musician studied church music, school music, and concert performance in organ/improvisation in Freiburg and deepened his knowledge of the French repertoire in Paris and Toulouse. In 2024/25, he was assistant to the cathedral organist at Cologne Cathedral, and since October 2024, he has been teaching organ and improvisation at the Freiburg University of Music.

Kiefer has won several awards, including at the Maria Hofer Competition in Strasbourg and Wiesbaden, and in 2025 he won the prestigious Silbermann Competition, which earned him the title “Young ECHO Organist 2026.” Numerous scholarships, such as the Germany Scholarship and the Cusanuswerk scholarship, confirm his artistic quality.

He is a musician who impressively demonstrates how lively and modern organ music can be today.
