The Elite of Society: Fashion Change between 1590 and 1650
Lecture by Dr Johannes Pietsch

Fashion underwent a profound transformation during this period. The conservative Spanish court style, which had served as a model throughout Europe, was replaced by new trends from the Netherlands, France, and England. These developments reflected not only cultural shifts but also significant political, economic, and social influences.

Dr Johannes Pietsch is Curator for Textiles, Costumes, Leather, and Traditional Dress and Head of the Photographic Collection at the Bavarian National Museum in Munich.

The event is free of charge.
No registration is required.
