In this performance of lieder by Schumann, Berlioz, Britten, and Eisler, soprano Sarah Maria Sun and pianist Jan Philip Schulze travel through time in celebration of the art song, guided by the theme of “travel” in keeping with the showcase exhibition TRAVEL.PICTURES.

After studying voice in Cologne and Stuttgart, Sarah Maria Sun went on to study with Darinka Segota and Tanja Ariane Baumgartner. She has given masterclasses in twentieth- and twenty-first-century vocal music at the universities of Oslo, Harvard, Chicago, Stockholm, Zurich, Rostock, Moscow, Dresden, Hanover, and Berlin.

Jan Philip Schulze is a song accompanist, chamber musician, and specialist in Neue Musik. Since 2003, he has been professor for lied at the Musikhochschule in Hanover. He is internationally in demand as a masterclass teacher.

Please note: Following the concert, visitors are invited to take a guided tour of the showcase exhibition TRAVEL.PICTURES. As the number of participants will be limited, separate registration for the tour is required.
