Symposium Caritas – Charity – Philanthropie – Corporate Citizenship
Good Works, the Catholic Milieu and Donations

This three-day symposium, held in conjunction with the project “Charity in Networks: Corporate Philanthropy and Catholic Identity from the Perspective of Benefactors”, takes up the questions: What is the role of religious conviction, denominational networks, and the demonstration of denominational identity in the development of philanthropic work? How important are foundations and influential supporters for missionary orders and aid organisations, and thus for Catholic networks as a whole? Which denominational influences in philanthropy can still be reconstructed today?
T
he talks to be presented at this interdisciplinary symposium are aimed at gaining a better understanding of these issues. The focus will be on both the historical underpinnings in the Catholic milieu and transformations in philanthropy in the context of globalisation.

With the symposium will start an accompanying exhibition in DAS Forum.
