For the traditional Easter Monday concert at St Agatha’s church in Mettingen, Midori Seiler and Christian Rieger bring compositions by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber (1644–1704) and Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750) together in a musical dialogue.

The daughter of two pianists, German-Japanese violinist Midori Seiler grew up in Salzburg. Her musical studies took her to Basel, London, and Berlin. She was a member and concertmaster (from 2005 to 2014) of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. She teaches at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar, where she is professor of baroque violin. In 2015, she was awarded the Saxon Mozart Prize.
Christian Rieger, soloist and chamber music partner on harpsichord, organ, and pianoforte, studied music at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe and at the Schola Cantorum in Basel. Since 2004, he has been professor of historical keyboard instruments and figured bass at the Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen.
