Excursion to Seebüll Home and Inspiration
Since nothing turned out quite the way we’d planned last year, the excursion to Seebüll will take place after the exhibition EMIL NOLDE – A CRITICAL APPROACH BY MISCHA KUBALL. Now, this excursion will take participants to the far north of Schleswig-Holstein to discover the beauty of the landscape that inspired the Expressionist painter Emil Nolde. In 1927, Emil Nolde and his wife, Ada, began building their home in Seebüll in the small municipality of Neukirchen not far from the Danish border. The couple’s home and its very special setting can be visited, and the works of art that Nolde created in Seebüll can still be seen there today. The excursion will also include a visit to a second Expressionist-style artist’s residence: the Kunststätte Bossard, the home of the artist couple Johann Michael Bossard and Jutta Bossard-Krull. And, finally, the group will make a stop at Schloss Gottorf to see the castle’s magnificent rooms and works of art.
