Provisionally closed!

Dear guests,

The uncertainty caused by the coronavirus is great. However, we want to ensure that the pathogen does not spread, and it is important to us to take precautionary measures. We regard the well-being and health of our guests and employees as our primary obligation.

For this reason we have decided, with a heavy heart, to cancel the opening ceremony on 22 March 2020 for our exhibition ‘Hope’ and to close the museum provisionally until 14 April 2020. This is a difficult step for us, but it offers clarity and we are following decisions, recommendations and prohibitions made by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the district of Steinfurt, but also in the direct vicinity of Mettingen (e. g. in the schools).

It seems reasonable to us not to offer any events at the moment, with which we promote travel activities and meetings of many people, from various regions or even countries. We therefore ask for your understanding.

We very much hope that the situation will ease up again in the next few weeks and that we will be able to resume our normal exhibition activities. During this time we will also find other ways of publishing and communicating our exhibitions, e. g. via social networks.

We are already looking forward to our next meeting in Draiflessen – please stay healthy!
