The Draiflessen Collection’s fashion collection includes creations by famous designers such as Madeleine Vionnet, Christian Dior, Madame Grès, and Cristóbal Balenciaga. All four were members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, the Parisian trade association that only admits fashion boutiques producing tailor-made creations based on models, elaborately handcrafted and made of luxurious materials.

The presentation HOHE SCHNEIDERKUNST in DAS Forum is the result of a cooperation project with the Department of Textile Design of the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences at the University of Osnabrück: in two seminars, students deal with the four fashion designers, their working methods and their oeuvre both theoretically and practically.

In the seminar by Christine Löbbers, "From the oblique run of thread to the classic tailor", 15 students dedicate themselves to their chosen fashion designer, researching what makes him/her so special to this day. They let themselves be inspired, experiment, imitate techniques, create their own models and try out craftsmanship finesses that become part of the presentation of high tailoring.
The aim of Maria Spitz's seminar is to develop the exhibition presentation as well as a booklet that will serve as an exhibition companion. To this end, eleven students are forming four teams. They also deal with the fashion designers and pay special attention to the clothes and ensembles they present. They will write texts, plan the exhibition areas designed as studios and set them up. In addition, they will enrich the museum's educational programme with their own contributions and also support the social media department.
