In Search of the Real

This excursion to Potsdam and Berlin, organized in conjunction with the exhibition MADE REALITIES, offers the opportunity to engage with the construction of realities in photography and film. Staging, lighting design, pose, and props are the keywords highlighted on this journey. At the Filmmuseum Potsdam we will explore the history of the film studio Babelsberg. At the Museum für Fotografie in Berlin we will look at photographs from the USA dating to the 1970s and 1980s, taken by various photographers and reflecting different artistic impulses. Further highlights of the trip include a tour of the Museum Barberini in Potsdam, a visit to a cinema with a rich history, and a tour through the Tiergarten district of Berlin.
