Description
This film archive includes Thomas Henke’s work from 1998 to 2023 and also collaborative work by the artist couple. Peggy and Thomas Henke’s artistic practice is an experimental and radical exploration of the format of the cinematic portrait. The oeuvre of Peggy and Thomas Henke is characterized by an empathetic portrayal of people and their lives, moving between documentary and art. Their film projects, experimental films, documentaries, and video installations show a wide variety of people in existential life situations: facing injustice, powerlessness, suffering, and death, in search of expression, encounters, and knowledge, but also refuge and liberation. We are delighted to have these moving and thought-provoking works in our collection since 2024 thanks to the generous donation from Mr. and Mrs. Henke. Further information on the individual works can be found on Thomas Henke's website.
