Description
The architectural model shows the cube-shaped Alea 101 building at Alexanderplatz in Berlin, which was completed in 2014. It is located on the same site where C&A opened its first German store in 1911. The building was damaged during the Second World War and was expropriated and demolished during the Soviet occupation of East Berlin. The architectural competition for Alea 101 took place in 2009, shortly after the property was transferred back to Redevco, and the Berlin-based architectural firm Sauerbruch Hutton was announced as the winner that same year. The foundation stone was laid in 2012, and the building has won several awards since. In addition to this presentation model, another one with the television tower located directly next to it was added to the collection.
