Description
This conceptual vinyl record by the Berlin-based artist Katja Aufleger (b. 1983) translates the relief of the earth into sound by converting altitude into frequency (1 meter = 1 hertz). The A-side represents the northern hemisphere, the B-side the southern hemisphere. The matte surface shows the outlines of the continents, so this object makes the world map both audible and visible.
