Exhibition space LANGUAGE/TEXT/IMAGE
We now enter the exhibition space. Every exhibition in the Draiflessen Collection develops its own architecture to further explore the theme of the exhibition and make it somewhat palpable. This is also the case for the exhibition “Sprache/Text/Bild” (Language/Text/Image).
This time, the triangle was chosen as the central creative form for the exhibition’s architecture and graphics. This relates to the three terms in the exhibition title: language, text and image. The advantage of triangles is that they can simultaneously make various reciprocal relationships visible. In this context, the exhibition space is designed as an open space that allows for multifaceted views and perspectives.
Within the exhibition area, we see three wall structures arranged in such a way that they form an open triangular shape within the exhibition space. The upper edges of the walls are not constructed at a 90-degree angle but deviate slightly. The slight inclination of the upper edges of the walls creates the impression of movement within the space. This movement is slightly disorienting while at the same time sharpening our awareness.
There is no prescribed order for viewing the artworks. The tour to which I’m inviting you in this audio guide is merely one way of exploring the exhibition. Each visitor can let their curiosity guide them and stroll through the exhibition space freely. Simply pause the audio guide at any time and scroll down to the work that catches your interest. Once you have found it, you can start the audio guide again with the description of that particular position.
