Applied Arts
Large families of objects, individual textile pieces and fashion creations form a significant part of our Applied Arts collection. A special place is thereby occupied by the Ariadne’s Naaikussen Foundation – a unique and exquisite collection of historical needlework tools. Of the more than 2,000 objects assembled by Clementine Kuttschrütter (née Brenninkmeijer), we are here showing the silver sewing cushion (Du. naaikussen) that gives the collection its name.
